Back To AOE !!!!!!!

So after weeks had gone by just planning to set an AOE session in Bang , we finally had a Game On this Sunday !

Phoenix (Joe), Mr Wrong (Pammi), Killer3J (Jayesh), Loser (Pammi's Cousin--AOE GOD), MalooRulz (Chandi) and Me (Ricky)
--- we were all there at this Koramangla Gaming Zone where already some maniacs were freaking out playing CS (Counter Strike).

We waited patiently for about half an hour before we could get our hands on the mouse and keyboard, ready to relive the long awaited trip to the world of AOE, truly the Best Strategy Game ever!

GAME 1 (Continental)
Ricky,Maloo,Wrong vs Loser,Phoenix,Killer3J

It was more than 3 months since some of us had last played AOE . To my content I was comfortably placed in the middle, so my strategy was to advance to a fast Castle and help Wrong/Maloo. I went to help Wrong where Loser was creating nuisance.

Phoenix was playing as good as ever and he was soon into Imperial ready to launch a massive attack from the middle. Maloo unaware of the looming danger was happy just restricting killer3J from entering into his arena.

Loser was giving a tough time to me and Wrong at the other end. By the time we could bring some stability at this end, Maloo was run over by Phoenix's elegant and precise attack. Now there was no stopping Joe-the foe and with Killer3J they made our position desperate. Soon we resigned saving ourselves from a demolition drive.

GAME 2 (Oasis)
Ricky,Maloo,Phoenix vs Loser,Wrong,Killer3J

A complete mismatch in terms of team strength . The other team was simply too much for us to handle as all 3 of us were short of match practice . I had forgotten all the short cut keys and kept asking Joe throughout the game.Again I was in the middle, and went out to help Phoenix this time around. Maloo was having a tough time on the other side with Killer3J building Palisade walls around his Gold mines. Sensing trouble, I built a castle near Maloo's Town Cemter to give him some breathing space.

But this had given enough time to Wrong (Koreans) to bring his War Wagons in action. He had also disturbed Joe's economy leaving archer's around his mines.
Loser soon joined in the party and they were soon on top of us. With almost nothing left to defend, we resigned to a destined defeat.

GAME 3 (Arabia-not sure)
Ricky,Killer3J,Loser vs Phoenix,Wrong,Maloo

Voila! me in the middle again. This time i had to take advantage of my secure position, and ensure my allies do not get screwed because of little help from me. I had to effectively switch between Loser and Killer3J so as not to lose the balance.
Though I advanced late to the Castle, I had enough resources to launch an attack with Loser on Maloo. Initially, were having a good time but Wrong came to Maloo's rescue and they regained some lost territory. This gave time for Maloo to settle down a bit.

On the other side Killer3J continued his mild attacks on Phoenix, but soon Phoenix launched a counter attack which was looking dangerous. Killer3J pinged me just in time to gather my attention. I assembled all my army from Loser's Territory on to Joe's side. Before Phoenix could go more into the offensive, I touched Imperial and opened my Trebuchets on to Phoenix's Castle. That was the key to bring Killer3J back into resurrection mode. Now we were advancing into Phoenix's area and he was surely having a tough time.

By this time Wrong and Maloo were looking strong and were starting to pierce in Loser's territory. I researched for Long Swordsman and got Chinese Cho-Kunu to assist him. Soon we were ready for Rampage at both the ends. Killer3J was back on heals and I sensed my first Victory. Though the destruction was incomplete as we ran out of our 2 hour slot, but the result was obvious.

The AOE Session surely re-enlightened my gaming spirits. Its one thing I can now look forward to every weekend.... :)

The Best Trip !

This trip is definitely the best till date. The wing trip to Haridwar, Rishikesh , Dehradoon , Musoorie is etched in my memory never to be erased. Sandheer , Joe , CP ( Oh Yeah Baby ) , Surana ( Without ur Digicam hamara kya hota )--- U guyz rocked man !

The Wild River Rafting - definitely a lifetime experience , the 20 feet Rock jump , the fearless dive in the Ganges , Mussorie Peaks , Bird Watching in Dehradoon .... just so awesome that I think words are not enuf to describe the whole feeling and pictures uploaded here speak every bit of it.

With the GOA trip just round the corner , I can already feel my adrenaline pumping !

The Special Treat.

So,
After a week having hardly worked ,it was time to freak out during the weekend !
Still devoid of a television....its sickening to be at home.

This Friday night was a real special one for me. We( Joe and me) met Sumit , my CSA senior who is working for Oracle. At Garuda , looking for a nice flick, we found most of them ( Fight Club , TAXI NO-9211 , Fun With Dick And Jane) were already watched.

But movie was a must ,and then it took us just a sec to decide --->
Rang De Basanti (http://www.orkut.com/Community.aspx?cmm=8261882). It was second time for me and Joe but it was nothing against Sumit's 7th !!!
The show was at 9.45 , so we went to Hyd Mahal at Brigade Road for dinner . It was a nice place with good ambience . After a light dinner , there was still enuf time to roam around a bit. Sumit took us to Amoeba, The Bowler's Den and rite away got three tickets for a go at the Bowling Alley.

Having already played an Inter School Competition for my School , I was comfortable with my first clean strike getting all the balls down . It was Sumit next and the ball slipped through the corner of the alley without disturbing nething on its way. Joe had a similar luck with his first go at Bowling. It was time for some expert teaching ;-) and they really got going after that.

In the end with my score at 100 , i did better than most ppl bowling around but if u tell that I hav participated in an inter School Bowling Competition , it was a shame. Sumit got a clean strike in his last attempt. He finished at 68, Joe at 57.

The show was to start in 10 mins , so we left quickly. The sky was overcast and it looked as if the sky wld burst open any moment. We got into the cozy seats in INOX . This was my first time at INOX , Bangalore (we hav vowed not to personally spend 170 bucks for a movie just coz its INOX. Symphony and Rex Front Stall are just as good @ 50 bucks ....11 ;-). The screen certainly looked small compared to the multiplex theatre's back home in Calcutta. When I watched it at first, I was actually critisizing it on some aspects which are not possible. The second experience really made me understand the real meaning of the movie and the message it was trying to convey; truly an inspiring movie , movie to awaken the generation.

It was already past 1 in the night when the movie got over and to find it was pouring outside made me a bit nervous. U know what exorbitant rates the autowala's ask in these situations. To my relief I got an auto with just double the meter rate. Bidding good bye to Sumit and Joe, and a special thanx to Sumit (for I think i dont know neone who is as good as him---he is just too good for this world ) , I left for home .

Life@Bangalore.

Life has really changed a lot in the past few months. This transformation from a college student to a so called Professional has not been very easy for me... College was so cool... I feel college was much better...
Worst part of office is that everyday I need to get up early in the morning and reach office by 9.

Life has become so predictable and so scheduled that at times I feel I'm actually running a life.bat file everyday and it is not very exciting. I've even managed to write down the code of my life.bat. It goes something like this...

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

I understand that this code could have been much more elegent but given the limited time that I have and my awesome programming skills, this is all I could manage to put down.

PS: The Code actually works. Copy it in a life.bat file and run at your command prompt.

Google Rulz !!!

Here's what I stumbled upon the other day while finding some information on Google... This is really an example of how innovative and creative a technology company could be... Great going Google... Though the technology is around 4 Yrs. old, it still impresses me ;-)...
